directing.

In feather’d briefness…

I love crafting experiences. The productions I enjoy most as an audience member plunge me into the world of the play instead of holding me at arms length.

I primarily work in classical theatre, but I am excited by anything that is thematically bold and has the potential for an exciting night of theatrical communion, fueled by ensemble driven invention.

Many of William Shakespeare’s works demand the suspension of belief as a prerequisite... the silver lining is a production nimbly directed by Will Block with minimalist aesthetics, abundant imagination, and a worthy ensemble...

Trailer by Jono Eiland

There’s some comfort that in a tiny theater in North Hollywood, on what’s obviously a
meager budget, Porters of Hellsgate is able to defy all of these tendencies, to put on
stage 15 actors who are obviously trained in the art, to reincarnate a play that’s almost
never done, in a way that resonates in our times with a kind of weird, emotional buzz.
I’m so glad I took the risk of spending my time with them, and so grateful that this
theater company is here.
